Hi!! I’m Angelos T. Zois , I was born in Limassol, Cyprus. I grew up wanting to be an oceanologist or an innovator scientist on robotics or a paleontologist.
I ‘ve studied and worked as an electronic and computer engineer for many years but … drawing, painting, photography, music and creating stories has always been my passion.
Artist Statement – My Inspiration
My work is always changing and evolving. As a self-taught painter, time is my greatest teacher. Most of my works are with oil and acrylic. I have tried other media and generally I have experimented to find what I like, what suits me.
With hard work, enthusiasm, dedication, sometimes with a dose of madness I have managed to capture my thoughts on the canvas. A key element of my paintings is the figure and the storytelling it experiences.
I like to paint series of paintings. It’s like collecting moments of life that are important, which are unique and reflect light through the darkness and color.
My design strategy is not always the same, it varies depending on the subject. Usually it starts with an idea, a feeling which is depicted with simple lines.
I try through my paintings to transfer the metaphors that I have in my mind through the materials to the soul of the viewer.
